Created during COVID-19, PTVR focuses on creating shows that are accessible for anyone who has internet. We are fixated on translating the live experience to an online environment.

Virtual theatre is not about replacement, it is about expansion.
Our Mission
Art is inherently political. We strive to create accessible works that inspire social justice change in our communities and remove traditional elitist barriers in theatre.
How?
Performance
Using a central 360° camera, we can perform as if there is a single audience member. Our actors, designers, and directors only need to direct our attention to you. Theatre can go on and you can enjoy our productions with the best seat in the house.
Audience
The great news is you already have us with you - in your phone! All you need is the YouTube App on your phone and you can watch our productions however you want. Our shows are designed with the audience member having a cardboard VR headset (around 10 USD) so you can be immersed in our productions.

Safe
Theatre is undergoing huge growing pains because of COVID-19. The disease has changed how we can engage in Theatre - Tests, passports, and masks. Through Virtual Reality, you have the best seat in the house and will never have to focus on COVID-19 while watching our productions.

Accessible
Anyone with an internet connection can enjoy our shows regardless of geographic location. This benefits not only an international audience, but an audience of every age and physical ability. The audience isn’t held back by safety concerns or transportation.

Why not?
From watching Zoom plays to listening to radio plays, there has been amazing creativity during the pandemic. Virtual Reality gives the audience more agency in how they watch virtual shows. Why not use this opportunity to see how VR can change how we relate to online theatre?

One Monologue | Three Versions
With our most recent production, WHY WAS MY MOTHER DRIVING SO FAST, we decided to use the monologue as an opportunity to research how to make VR Theatre. With each version we change the setting, lighting, how we treat the camera, and blocking. To help us with our research, please fill out the survey asking about your experience!
